What Do You Need To Start Your Rafting Adventure?
Rafts and Equipment
Explore Cetina River with us! Our Gumotex rafts, guided by experienced skippers, hold up to 7 people. Equipped with waterproof bags for cameras, each rafter receives a paddle, life jacket, and helmet for a safe and thrilling adventure.
Shoes and Clothing
Dress for the water, not the air – you will get wet. Shorts, a T-shirt and a swimsuit are ideal for warmer days, and on colder days you will also be provided with a neoprene suit. Wear sneakers, sports sandals or neoprene shoes. Bring spare clothes and a towel; our hosts will bring them to you at your destination. Tie your sunglasses or prescription glasses with a string so you don't lose them in the river.
A Camcorder or a Camera
Our adventure is accompanied by an experienced photographer with professional equipment, and upon completion, he will offer you photos.
You can bring your camera, but at your own risk; there are waterproof bags and boxes in the boats. We do not recommend video cameras on the raft.
Your adventure on the Cetina
Departure from Omiš
VIR rafting offers you the option of being picked up at your place of residence. The ride from Omiš to the start in Slimen takes about 25 minutes and offers beautiful views of the Cetina canyon and the surrounding greenery. After 5–6 minutes, we pass the 'Radmanove mlinice' picnic area - the place where we will end up in a few hours. Then we continue slowly through the villages of the Omiš hinterland to the start, where the river part of the adventure begins.
Arrival at the start
At the start, you will be welcomed by friendly hosts with an aperitif, cakes, fresh fruit and coffee. You will meet the skipper and photographer, receive equipment and brief instructions: basic paddle movements and river behavior.
A peaceful beginning
The first part is not fast, but the nature is beautiful – a crystal clear river rich in flora and fauna. Here the crew gets used to the rhythm of rowing.
Labyrinth
Soon we pass through two tunnels of branches, where teamwork comes into play. Next comes the more technically demanding part that the skippers call 'The Labyrinth' – listening to the skipper's commands is key here.
Swimming break
We stop for 5–10 minutes at a calm lake for a short swim and refreshment in the blue-green water. Then we reach a small dam where you can taste real spring water.
Studenci and Oblačnik
We arrive at the 'Studenci' waterfall, one of the most beautiful on the Cetina River. Our professional photographer will take pictures of you all the way. After 'Studenici', there is the 'Oblačnik' rapid – at the beginning, everyone gets out of the boats and follows the skipper on foot as he passes the rapid alone.
Small waterfalls, 'Z' and jumping
After 'Oblačnik' we enter the raft under one of the two small waterfalls and enjoy the play of light. Next are several exciting rapids and a place known as 'Z' – the adrenaline is pumping here, so we listen carefully to the skipper. At 'Tisni stine' you can try jumping into the river from 2–5 meters.
Radman's mills
Not far away we pass the location where the final scene of the movie 'Winnetou' was filmed and after a few more rapids we reach our destination – Radman's Mills. As a team we carry the raft to the shore and leave our equipment in the boat. The adventure lasts about 3–4 hours, and you will be happy to talk about the impressions and photos for a long time to come.
Skippers
Skippers are, therefore, wet vagabonds. Their task is to shake up tourists who are looking for excitement and adventure, to get them wet, to entertain them and, of course, to take them down wild rivers around the world as safely as possible. In addition to skill, experience, good fitness, and quick reflexes, every skipper must be able to assess his "crew" well and determine the exact dose of adrenaline that will satisfy their needs. Skippers do not have blood flowing through their veins, but wild water - rafting is their way!
All of our skippers have successfully completed the education and training program for leaders of adventure activities in nature with authorized HGSS instructors.
